Practice Schedule/Etiquette

Practice & Lane Etiquette

Please be aware and considerate of those around you.

Gear:  Get it out before practice starts & return it when practice is over. If you bring your own equipment, please label it (dry erase markers work well.)

Organize:  Arrange your equipment in the order of your lane as best and as neatly as possible.

Listen:  Quietly while the coach is explaining the set or making announcements, then talk among yourselves.

Personal Space:  Wait at least 5 seconds to push off after the person in front of you.

Compromise:  If unable to do a particular set, figure out an alternative that is about the same speed and let those in your lane doing the set as written go ahead of you.

Circle swim:  At the wall, if you are sitting out or letting someone pass, stand to the far right as you are facing the wall. When you finish the swim, move left and let others finish also.

Time to go:  Please exit the pool in a timely manner, especially when there is another practice coming in after yours, or if open lap swimmers are waiting for a lane.
